Aromas of sweet berries with fresh, floral and forest-flower notes that turn to conifer and perfume. Medium-to full-bodied with racy tannins. I like the dried-fruit flavors with hints of mushrooms and dried meat. Better in 2022.
ARNALDORIVERA BAROLO MONVIGLIERO 2016 – 94
A powerful, rich red with plum, hazelnut and chocolate aromas and flavors. It’s focused and structured with red fruit, light vanilla and strong tannins. Needs time to soften. Better after 2023.
ARNALDORIVERA BAROLO RAVERA 2016 – 94
A juicy and tannic Barolo, yet the tannins are soft and rounded with plenty of ripe strawberry and cherry character. It’s full-bodied with lots of richness and length. Meat and walnuts to the dried fruit. Give it two or three years to soften.
ARNALDORIVERA BAROLO CASTELLO 2016 – 93
A ripe, luscious red with dried strawberries, dried porcini mushrooms and flowers. It’s full-bodied with lots of intense fruit and chewy tannins. Needs time to come together and for the tannins to soften. Better after 2023.
ARNALDORIVERA BAROLO BUSSIA 2016 – 93
A juicy red with ripe, polished tannins that are velvety and caressing. Lots of ripe-berry character and hints of cedar. It’s full-bodied and flavorful at the end. Better after 2022.
ARNALDORIVERA BAROLO VIGNARIONDA 2016 – 97
Wow. A beautiful example of this special vineyard with plush, rich tannins that envelop the ripe fruit and deliver plenty of ripe-strawberry, hazelnut and chocolate character. It’s full-bodied, layered and unctuous. Much better after 2023, but hard not to try now.

A tight, focused red with strawberry, hazelnut and floral aromas and flavors. Medium to full body, firm and creamy tannins and a flavorful finish. Juicy finish. Try after 2022.
